Introduction
Healthy Futures is a project of Elite Youth. It works with children aged from 5 years across to adults, delivering physical activities and health workshops. It has specific interest in working with children whom are obese or underweight, people whom are not partaking in any physical activities or exercise, and people from an ethnic minority background whom are disadvantaged or at risk of being disengaged with mainstream society. Sporting activities and workshops in Healthy Futures are used as a pivotal tool to encourage healthy lifestyles amongst children and adults. The activities and workshops are provided in school premises, leisure centres, and community centres, working in Partnership with the Local Authority, funders’, Tower Hamlets Primary Care Trust, schools, and many other projects’ and organisations to provide an integrated youth service to the community.
- To reduce levels of obesity in children and young people from targeted communities.
- To increase access and participation through physical activities.
- Promote healthy lifestyles through health workshops.
- Engage with and sustain a strong Partnership with local/national government, and other like minded organisations to ensure a streamlined service is delivered for the needs of the community
