About Elite Youth

Chairman of Elite Youth

Elite Youth is a local youth and community organisation based in Tower Hamlets. It has been established since 1973 and has a history of working for the community of Tower Hamlets in providing local service provisions. Its mission statement is very simple: ‘To bring out the best in young people.’ Its key aims are to work with the disadvantaged and disengaged ethnic minority community of Tower Hamlets and encourage them towards mainstream education, employment and training. It also places strong emphasis on the health and social welfare of young people and their need for recreation in developing a healthy and active lifestyle.

In 2000, Elite Youth relocated to the Osmani Youth Centre amidst a great deal of uncertainty. Elite Youth linked up with another resident community organisation BLYDA (Brick Lane Youth Development Association) and started delivering locally based services from the centre. The services delivered from the Centre have galvanised the local community and fostered a spirit of youth empowerment and active citizenship.

Elite Youth have recently gained FA Charter Standard in recognition of its commitment towards quality standards in football development within a school and community based setting.
