FARE Conference 2007

Following the huge success of the ‘One Game One Community’ Anti-racism football campaign in October 2006, Abdal Ahmed, Football Development Manager at Elite Youth was invited to attend the Football against Racism in Europe (FARE) conference in Paris last weekend. The conference held at the French Football Federation headquarters was organised to discuss the involvement and issues facing ethnic minorities in football.

Abdal formed part of a group of 10 people selected from across United Kingdom to join other European counterparts, who are fighting for the cause of anti-racism in football. Among the high profile guests were UEFA Director of Communication William Gaillard, French World Cup winner Christian Karembeu and former player of Ghana Anthony Baffoe. Read more...

The Brick Lane Youth Development Association (BLYDA) and Elite Youth held their Annual Awards Ceremony on 12 April 2007, at the Mulberry Girls School. The event was geared towards celebrating the achievements of young people and the invaluable contributions made by volunteers at BLYDA and Elite.
